NoiseTag: AI Noise Source Classification on NorCloud

Conventional monitors measure how loud noise is, but not what it is. NoiseTag uses artificial intelligence in the NorCloud platform to automatically classify environmental noise sources, and it complements NoiseCompass (the Nor1297), which determines the direction of arrival of noise.

NoiseTag — AI classification

NoiseTag automatically classifies noise sources — traffic, aircraft, construction, industry and more — directly in NorCloud, cutting manual listening on long monitoring campaigns.

NoiseCompass (Nor1297) — direction of arrival

The Nor1297 identifies the bearing from which noise arrives at the monitoring terminal, separating the source of interest from background noise and giving defensible directional evidence.

Why it matters

  • Turns noise data into actionable evidence: who caused the noise and when
  • Cuts hours of manual analysis on long monitoring campaigns
  • Strengthens complaint and compliance resolution with objective evidence
  • Integrates into the existing NorCloud workflow with no extra hardware
