The RION NA-28 is RION's top-range handheld acoustic instrument: a Class 1 precision sound level meter with real-time 1/1-octave and 1/3-octave band analysis built in as standard, able to run both simultaneously. It meets IEC 61672-1:2013 Class 1 for the sound level meter and IEC 61260 Class 1 for the octave and third-octave filters (with the equivalent ANSI and JIS Class 1 standards). It covers 10 Hz to 20 kHz across a 25 dB to 140 dB range with A, C and Z weighting, delivering Lp, Leq, SEL, Lmax, Lmin and five Ln percentiles, plus a sub-channel for Lpeak or Takt-max. Real-time analysis spans 16 Hz to 16 kHz (1/1 octave) and 12.5 Hz to 20 kHz (1/3 octave). A colour TFT display and generous storage — internal memory plus a CompactFlash card (up to ~300,000 auto-store sets, around 1,000 hours of 1-second 1/3-octave data) — support demanding survey and logging work. What makes the NA-28 a true system is its option cards. The NX-28BA Building Acoustics card adds sound-insulation, reverberation-time and NC room-noise-rating measurements; the NX-28FT FFT card adds narrow-band analysis (to 20 kHz, 8,000 lines, 2.5 Hz resolution); and the NX-28WR card adds uncompressed 16-bit WAVE waveform recording. The instrument pairs with the UC-59 microphone and NH-23 preamplifier. Powered by four C-size batteries (about 15 hours) or the supplied AC adapter, the NA-28 suits consultants and laboratories needing spectral detail. Supplied and supported by Norsonic Asia for customers across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and export markets, with regional calibration, training and application support.
