The RION NL-63 is a Class 1 precision sound level meter distinguished by its low-frequency and infrasound capability. Where most sound level meters start at 20 Hz, the NL-63 measures from 1 Hz and adds G-weighting to ISO 7196, making it the right tool for investigating low-frequency noise and infrasound from HVAC plant, compressors, wind turbines and heavy machinery — a common source of community complaints that standard meters cannot characterise. It meets IEC 61672-1:2013 Class 1 (and ANSI S1.4 / JIS C 1509-1 Class 1), measures 25 dB to 138 dB with A, C, Z and G frequency weighting, and offers Fast, Slow, Impulse and 10 s time weighting plus 100 Hz and 500 Hz high-/low-pass filters. A single run captures Lp, Leq, LIeq, moving Leq, SEL, Lmax, Lmin, five Ln percentiles (0.1 to 99.9 %), Lpeak and Takt-max. The 3.5-inch backlit colour touchscreen, USB Type-C, SD-card logging (up to around 1,000 hours) and LAN control (live readout from a PC or smartphone browser) give a modern, connected workflow, with RS-232C, comparator output and trigger input for system integration. Optional NX-63RT adds real-time 1/1 and 1/3 octave analysis. Powered by four AA batteries (about 12 hours in ECO mode), the AC adapter or a USB power bank, and rated IP54 (excluding microphone) for −10 to 50 °C field work, the NL-63 pairs the UC-59L microphone for precision low-frequency response. Supplied and supported by Norsonic Asia for customers across Asia, the Middle East, Africa and export markets.
